President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that his comments about Sen. Jon Husted’s rear end resulted in a 12-point jump in the Ohio senator’s polling numbers. The President posted a video on TikTok, apparently recorded in the Oval Office, in which he discussed his admiration for Husted’s physical attributes. He stated, 'I told the people, they didn’t know this, he has a great ass. Very powerful ass. His shoulders, his hands, his arms.'

The President has focused on male body parts and described men as handsome in recent weeks, a trend CNN’s Anderson Cooper highlighted in a video montage last week. Trump first brought up Husted’s physique at a rally last week, describing it as a 'pile of muscle.' He has referenced the topic repeatedly since that event.

Husted is competing in a tight Senate race against former Sen. Sherrod Brown. Current polls show Brown with a slight lead, and none display the sudden shift Trump describes. The President’s comments on Husted contrast with his recent remarks about Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, his selected Senate candidate. Trump told Paxton he was unsure about his look, dress, and speech, though he continues to praise Paxton’s loyalty.

The President’s involvement in the Ohio race centers on Husted, for whom he has been particularly effusive. The 12-point figure he cited refers to the 'ratings' or polling metrics he believes improved after his initial announcement. The race remains competitive, with no public data yet confirming the magnitude of the change the President asserts.
