Political news organizations typically rely on partner networks for election night broadcasts. Politico will produce its own live video show to cover the upcoming midterm elections.
The outlet will stream the program, titled Politico Elections Live, on Tuesday, November 3. The broadcast begins at 9 p.m. and will be available on Politico.com, the Politico app, and YouTube. Five senior journalists from the organization will host the show.
The panel consists of Adam Wren, Dasha Burns, and Will Steakin, who co-author the Playbook newsletter. They will join Jonathan Martin, a senior political columnist, and Alex Burns, the senior executive editor. These reporters have spent the current cycle traveling to swing states. They maintain ongoing contact with candidates and campaign staffs.
The hosts plan to go beyond announcing race results. They will share insights from their sources and explain how the outcomes affect national politics in the coming weeks. Jonathan Greenberger, the global editor in chief, noted that the audience expects more than a simple scoreboard. He stated that the show places viewers in the room with reporters as results arrive. The format aims to provide immediate analysis and a look toward the 2028 cycle.
This livestream concludes a period of expanded video coverage for the network. Reporters have recently featured in video podcasts such as On the Road with Jonathan Martin and The Conversation with Dasha Burns. Politico has increased its focus on video content in recent months to showcase its staff. These journalists frequently contribute to other mainstream news outlets.
